PawHop

Privacy policy

Effective October 9, 2026. This policy covers the PawHop apps and pawhop.app.

PawHop is published by the limited liability company that owns the app. We do not publish a personal name. Questions go to support@pawhop.app.

What the app is for

PawHop helps you find dog-friendly stops and shows the leash rule, the time window, and how recently that access was verified. You can browse without an account.

Optional account

You never need an account to browse PawHop. If you choose to sign in (email link, Google, or Facebook, and Apple on iPhone once available), we keep your email address and, so your pack shows up on every device you sign in on, your dog profiles (including photos, breed, and birthday), saved places, paw ratings, passport stamps, and the check-ins and notes you sent. This is stored with Supabase, our database host. Only your signed-in account can read it, except that friends you accept can see your dogs (see Friends). Dog photos and your profile picture are kept in private storage. Google and Facebook tell us your email and name; we ask Facebook only for your email and public profile. We never get your Google, Facebook, or Apple password. Signing out stops syncing and leaves the pack on that device.

Friends

Friends is optional and only for signed-in people 13 and older. When you turn it on, we store the name you pick (first name and last initial), a friend code, your friend requests and friends, the people you block, invite links you send, places you send to friends, and any report you file about someone. Friends see that name and your dogs (name, size, breed, and photo). They never see your email. You choose whether friends see the place and day of your recent check-ins and stamps, and you can turn that off at any time. “Show me on friends’ maps” is off until you turn it on; when on and you tap I’m here at a place, friends see your name on that place for 3 hours. We keep only your latest place and time, never your GPS location. Reports go to PawHop for review, and the person is not told who sent one.

Information on your device

Location

Location is optional and used only while you are using PawHop, to measure distance and center the map. You can skip it and still browse. The coordinates stay in memory on the phone and are not sent to our servers. We do not build an advertising profile from it, and we do not sell it.

What you can submit

Payments

PawHop is free. It does not take payments or ask for a card number. Whether pet dogs are allowed, leash and off-leash rules, time windows, closures, and hazards are never behind a paywall.

Service providers

The place list is bundled inside the app. Account data, listings, and the anonymous submissions above are stored in Supabase. Maps are provided by Apple on iPhone and by Google on Android. Sponsored slots are off unless we explicitly enable them, and anything that appears is labeled Sponsored.

What we do not do

Deleting your account and data

In the app, go to Settings, then Delete account. That deletes your account, dog profiles and photos, saved places, ratings, history, and friends, right away. You can also ask by email. Full steps, what is deleted and what is kept: pawhop.app/delete-account.

Retention and requests

Device data stays until you delete it or remove the app. Anonymous check-ins and condition notes expire on a timer (crowd about an hour, mud about 12 hours, hazards about 72 hours) or, for a closure, until it is marked resolved. Business-claim emails are kept while the claim is in review and as a record of the decision. Anonymous check-ins and condition photos are not tied to an account, so they are not removed when an account is deleted.

To ask about this policy or about a claim email, write to support@pawhop.app. You can also use the support page.
